Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of sibelium in preventing and treating cerebral vasospasm(CVS) after subarachnoid hemorrhage(SAH).Methods 60 patients with SAH were randomly divided into case group(36 patients) and control group(24 patients). All patients were accepted therapy within 72 hours after the attack of SAH.The patients of case group were accepted both routine therapy just as control group and sibelium 10mg qN×30d.Results The morbidity of CVS during medical care period and cerebral infarction(CI) and the endurable time of CVS following SAH and the mortality of the SAH in the case group were significantly lower than that of the control group irregularly(P0.005).The cure rate of CVS in the case group was obviously higher than that of the control group(P0.05).The morbidity of CVS before hospitalization and rehemorrhage had no statistical difference between the two groups(P0.05,P0.05).Conclusions It was suggested that sibelium was an ideal medicine therapy in preventing and treating CVS after SAH and there was no danger of rehemorrhage.
