Abstract
Objective To observe the benefit of improvement in clinical symptoms of the method of activating collaterals to promote blood circulation and replenishing Qi to tonify the kidney (Activating method),in the treatment of patients with COPD,and to evaluate the affection of the method on the patients' clinical symptom and lung function. Methods Ninety patients who were in the acute phase of the COPD,were randomly divided into three groups. Treatment group were treated by combined western medicine treatment (routine method) and the activating method. Control group were treated by the routine method and the method of promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis (promoting method). Routine group were treated by the routine method, such as anti-inflammatory ,relieving dyspnea, facilitating expectoration. The clinical watching time was six months. Results (1)The treatment group had bigher improvement ratio than the control and routine group, especially the symptom of cough, expectoration, gasp, wheezing rale had more remarkable improvement(P0.05). The effect percentage of the cough anesis was 37%,expectoration was 42%,gasp was 18.7% in treatment group. The reduction of wheezing rale is more remarkable in physical sign.(2)As for total curative effect, treatment group had an advantage over the other groups (P0.05).(3)There were significant differences in the improvement of Zrs,R% before and after treatment in the treatment group. Conclusion The method of activating collaterals to promote blood circulation and replenishing Qi to tonify the kidney plays some effect on the improvement of clinical symptoms and lung function for the patients who were in the phase of the illness.
