Abstract
High quality of continuously cast Bloom are necessary for High-speed rail steel.Dynamic Soft Reduction is a particularly effective method of reducing central segregation and porosity and hence improving the internal quality of continuously cast bloom.In this paper,focused on typical steel grades such as heavy rail steel U71Mn and U75V,metallurgical effect experiments on aplication of dynamic soft reduction have been carried out on No.5 bloom caster in Iron Steel Co.of Baotou,results show that when the reasonable Dynamic Soft Reduction technology is adopted the quality of heavy rail steel is improved obviously,the index of even carbon element deviation of bloom becomes better,ratio of substandard heavy rail decreases,compositions deviation of ordinary heavy rail reaches the standard of heavy rail being used by train with high speed,and the synthetic mechanical properties of heavy rail can meet the requirements of 350km/ h high-speed track rails.
