Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effects of mouse recombinant Periostin on proliferation and ALP activity of periodontal ligament cells (PDL cells). Methods:MTT method and enzyme dynamics method were used to observe the ability of proliferation and ALP expression of PDL cells. Results:Significant proliferation of PDL cells could be observed on Periostin at dose 40ug/ml ( P 0.01) and the ALP activity was increased at dose10μg/ml~80μg/ml( P 0.05).Conclusion:Periostin can promote the proliferation and ALP activity of PDL cells, but the effects need further studies.
