Abstract

Objectives: To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of metronidazole and clindamycin in the treatment of bacterial vaginosis. Methods: We collected clinical data of one hundred and eight patients with bacterial vaginosis who were treated in the department of gynaecology and obstetrics in our hospital from January 2010 to December 2011.The patients were randomly divided into the control group and observation group.Patients in the control group was given metronidazole for anti-infection treatment, and the observation group was given clindamycin combined with metronidazol. The clinical efficacy, the occurrence of adverse drug reactions and the recurrence rate of each group were evaluated. Results: The total clinical efficient rate was higher in the observation group than in the control group(90.74% vs 70.37%,P0.05),and the recurrence rate was lower in the observation group than that in the control group(7.41% vs 25.93%,P0.05),but the occurrence of adverse drug reactions had no statistically significant differences(P0.05).Conclusion: Metronidazole and clindamycin can produce satisfactory curative effect, little adverse effects and low recurrence rate for patients with bacterial vaginosis.
