Application of Minor Plate in Treatment of Radial Head Fracture:A Report of 13 Cases

Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical treatment and effectiveness by using the minor plate for radial head fractures. Methods Thirteen cases of radial head fracture (8 cases of Mason Ⅱ,5 cases of Mason Ⅲ)were treated from Jan. 2005 to Jan. 2009 by using mini-plate fixation in surgery. Results All the 13 cases were followed up 12 to 36 months,with an average of 15 months,and the standard Mayo elbow function scores showed 8 cases were excellent,3 cases good and 2 cases general,with the good or excellent rate of 84.6% and no cases showed nonunion and heterotopic ossification. Conclusion Use of Minor plate radial head fracture is safe and effective.
