Abstract
[Objective] To investigate the clinical application of central venous catheterization for the treatment of spontaneous pneumothorax. [Method] 36 cases with spontaneous pneumothorax were treated with oxygen up-taken in a static position, supine, gas-drawing by thoracic puncture, conventional closed thoracic drainage, closed thoracic drainage with central venous catheters, and other treatment methods. [Results] 35 cases with pneumothorax had been cured, and the hospitalization and catheterization time of central venous catheter drainage was shorter than that of conventional closed thoracic drainage period.[Conclusion] The application of central venous catheters for the treatment of spontaneous pneumothorax thoracic drainage is a safe, effective and simple method.
