Abstract
Objective To explore the application effect of micro-screw implant anchorage in orthodontic treatment of bimaxillary protrusion. Methods Orthodontic treatment by micro-screw implant anchorage was applied in 48 bimaxillary protrusion patients. X-Ray was taken before and after treatment. The values of middle incisor labial inclination(U1-SN), under incisor labial inclination(L1-MP), and the angle of long axis of middle and under incisor(U1-L1) were observed. Complications after treatment were recorded. Results After treatment, the values of U1-SN, L1-MP, and U1-L1 were remarkably improved in the 48 cases, and the difference had statistical significance(P0.05). Follow-up for all the patients showed that there were no complications as loose and fallen appliance, and local infection and swelling. Conclusion The application of micro-screw implant anchorage has good biocompatibility and stability, and it contains important value in the orthodontic treatment of bimaxillary protrusion. It is also worthy of further clinical promotion and application.
