Abstract
A new method for the determination of trace nitrite ion is proposed by spectrophotometry.This method is based on the diazotization reaction of amido black 10B with nitrite ion in HCI medium,that leading to the dicoloration of dyestuff,and the degree of the dicoloration is direct ratio with the concentration of nitrite in a certain limits.Thelinearrangeis0~8μg/10mL for nitrite and the apparent molar absorptivites is 2.51×10~(4).L.mol~(-1).cm~(-1).The method has been applied to the determination of nitrite invegetables and in waste water with satisfactory results.
