Abstract

Objective To study the relationship between sleep quality and anxiety/depression in soldiers during sea training, and to explore the influencing factors of sleep quality. Methods A total of 764 soldiers and officers were investigated with Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS).Results 43.0% of the soldiers and officers had poor sleep quality,61.3% of them had depression,21.5% anxiety and 19.9% for both anxiety and depression.Analysis of correlation showed that there was positive correlation between the scores of PSQI and SAS(r=0.55),SDS(r=0.48).Multi-stepwise regression analysis revealed that the regression coefficicents of main influencing factors of PSQI scores were 0.79 for habitual sleep efficiency,0.71 for sleep duration,0.65 for daytime dysfunction,0.64 for subjective sleep quality,0.59 for sleep latency,0.57 for sleep disorder, and 0.13 for hypmotics. Conclusion Anxiety and depression were the main influencing factors of sleep quality.Giving psychological guidance during sea training to get rid of them is necessaxy.
