Abstract
Objective To investigate the sleep quality and its relation to psychological factors among medical students of different learning degrees, and to provide reference for their mental health intervention. Methods A questionnaire was completed by 902 medicos from three medical colleges.Their sleep quality was assessed with Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),the psychological status was evaluated with Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS)and Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS).Results The prevalence of sleep disorder was 16.63% and there was no statistical significance between male and female. The incidence of sleep disorder in postgraduates(12.8%) was lower than that of undergraduates(19.9%),and the difference between them was of statistical significance. The sleep quality had an approximately positive correlation with the psychological factors, and the correlation coefficients were 0.574 and 0.503 between sleep quality and anxiety and between sleep quality and depression. Conclusion More attention should be paid to the sleep quality of medicos, especially to the undergraduates.Keeping a healthy mentality might be a possible way to improve sleep quality.
