Abstract
[Objective]To investigate the clinical efficacy of the use of insulin pump therapy in elderly diabetic.[Methods]According to treatment order,172 diabetic patients were randomly divided into two groups,86 cases in each group. The patients in two groups were given diet, exercise and other conventional treatment, while those patients were treated with Novolin R treatment.Patients in the observation group were treated with insulin pump therapy, the control group was treated with hypodermic injection of Novolin R at morning, afternoon, evening, before meal. After 2 weeks of treatment(2 courses),observed the plasma glucose, insulin levels, time of blood glucose reach to standard, insulin dosage and incidence of hypoglycemia, and in accordance with the above indictors, comprehensively evaluated the efficacy.[Results]The fasting plasma glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose in two groups before and after treatment were statistically significant(P﹤0.05).Daily dose of insulin, time of blood glucose reach to standard, incidence of hypoglycemia in two groups were statistically significant(P﹤0.05).The markedly effective rate was 75.58% in the observation group, total effective rate was 97.67%;in the control group, markedly effective rate was 52.23%,total effective rate was 75.58%.The markedly effective rate, total effective rate were statistically significant(P﹤0.05).[Conclusion]Insulin pump in treatment for elderly patients with diabetes smoothly controls the blood sugar, reduce the incidence of hypoglycemia and the dosage of insulin.
