Abstract

An antagonistic bacterium against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp.cubensewas isolated from soil in banana garden. Its inhibitive efficacy, thermostability and action mechanism were primarily studied. The results showed that its culture solution and cell-free filtrate strongly suppressed the hyphal growth and spore germination ofFusarium oxysporumf. sp. cubense;the terminal mycelia and germ tubes of spores of the pathogen were distorted and swollen after treated with the fermentation solution of antagonistic bacterium; inhibition rate of culture solution of this bacterium against the growth of the pathogen was reduced significantly after it was treated under 121℃ for 30 min.
