Abstract

An effective antagonistic bacterium against Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.cubense was isolated from the banana garden that was infected with wilt disease.The bacterium was named as G1.The experiments confirmed that G1 could inhibit the growth of the pathogen at different points by solid and liquid cultures.The results showed that the average inhibitory rates of the culture solution,sterile solution,volatile substance and non-volatile matter were 92.5%,27.4%,73.8% and 57.7%,respectively.Inhibition was closely related to viable cells,and the volatile substances were particularly important.After 10 days of reaction in tubes,G1 inhibited the growth of the pathogen and its conidial germination,broken down hyphae.By attaching to the spores of the pathogen,it broke down the cell walls and disclose the protoplasm and finally lead the spores to die.
