Abstract

Antagonistic bacterium controlling rice blast was tested on its inhibitive efficacy to the hypha growth and conidium germination of Pythium sp.,Sclerotium rolfsii,Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.cubense and Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.binincasae.The result showed that antagonistic bacterium was of different significant inhibition to four soil-borne pathogenic fungi. The inhibitive rates of 100-fold fermented Antagonistic bacteria liquid against the growth of the above four pathogenic fungi were between 26.47%~ 41.18%,while its inhibitive rate against the growth of Magnaporthe grisea was 69.85%.The inhibitive rates of initial fermented liquid against the conidia germination of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.cubense and Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.binincasae were 86.88% and 76.34%,respectively.The action mechanism of the Antagonistic bacterium showed that it could break down hyphae, turn the hypha cells into swollen sacs, and inhibit conidial germination.
