The dilemma and the route of university teachers’ professional development

Teachers who undertake the university teaching and research are supposed to have capability of developing creative academic activity,and the capability of putting academic accomplishments into teaching content to teach effectively.Their professional development should include teaching development and academic development.However,at present the academic development of Chinese university teachers is in free and spontaneous situation.Though the teaching development has its institutional guarantee,the actual result is not up to expectations.The professional development falls into dilemma.As the effective way to remove the dilemma,the professional development planning can make university development harmonious with teachers’ development,and make the development of their teaching work together with their academic development.It is the objective need for realizing university and teachers to develop together;it is also the best option for teachers to realize their life values.
