Abstract

YUAN Hao-wen's view on Tang poems can be summed up three points: his proposal of in accordance with that of Tang for the composing principle,his preference to classical elegance out of his orthodoxy view,and his advocating for the grand and natural style of Tang Dynasty its prosperity against the weak,ostentatious,and tricky tendency of later Tang.In practice,his compilation of Advocating for Tang Poems(Tang Si Gu Chui) led to the pursuit for Sound of Tang Poems Yuan Dynasty,which bridged up the worship for Tang poems Song and Jin dynasties,and signaled the rise of following Tang for tradition among Yuan Dynasty poets.
