The CT findings of mediastina neuroendocrine carcinoma

Objective To investigate the computed tomography(CT) imaging features of mediastina neuroendocrine carcinoma.Methods The imaging materials of nine patients were analyzed and the imaging features were induced retrospectively.All the cases were confirmed by pathology.Results Of the nine cases,seven cases located at antero-superior mediastinum.The tumor always showed uniform density and cystic necrosis were found commonly in the cases which was more than 5 cm in maximum diameter.The tumors were enhanced obviously in enhanced CT scan.Conclusion Mediastina neuroendocrine carcinoma was big in volumn and necrosis area was usually found,invasions and metastases were more likely to be found.Combined with clinical history,the imaging features are helpful to the diagnosis of mediastina neuroendocrine carcinoma.
