Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the efficacy and the safety of usage of succinic acid adenosylmethionine and ursodeoxycholic acid in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B with severe jaundice.METHODS 100 patients with chronic viral hepatitis B with severe jaundice were randomly divided into two groups,i.e.the treatment group(53 cases) and the control group(47 cases). The patients of treatment group were given succinic acid adenosylmethionine combined with ursodeoxycholic acid, whereas the control group were given Kuhuang treatment. The total efficiency, the serum levels of TbiL,ALT,ALP,γ-GT as well as the adverse reactions were investigated one month after the treatment.RESULTS The total effective rate of the treatment group was 88.7% versus 59.6% of the control group with a statistically significant difference(P0.01).After one month treatment, the serum levels of TBiL,ALT,ALP and γ-GT of patients in the treatment group were significantly different from those of the patients before the treatment(P0.01) and from those of the patients in the control group(P0.01).No obviously adverse reactions were found in both groups.CONCLUSION The usage of combination of succinic acid adenosylmethionine and ursodeoxycholic acid is safe and effective for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B with severe jaundice.
