Clinical observation on Xingnaofusu decoction in treating senile vascular dementia

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Xingnaofusu decoction on senile vascular dementia (VD). Methods 55 patients with VD were randomly divided into two groups.31 patients in treatment group were treated with Xingnaofusu decoction,one dose daily,decocted in water for oral dose (twice a day);24 patients in control group were treated with Xidezhen tablets,1mg once,three times a day,with a treatment course of two months for both groups. Results The total effective rate was 80.6% in treatment group and 58.3% in control group,there was a significant difference between two groups (P0.05). Conclusion Xingnaofusu decoction is effective in the treatment of senile VD,which can promote the restoration of intelligence and improve the clinical symptoms of the patients.
