Observation of curative effect of Yiqicongming decoction on vascular dementia

Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Yiqicongming decoction on vascular dementia( VD). Methods 60 patients with VD were randomly divided into two groups. 30 cases in control group were treated by aniracetam dispersible tablets. 30 cases in treatment group received Yiqicongming decoction. The therapeutic course was a month in two groups. The effect was evaluated after three courses. Cognitive function of patients in two groups was detected by MMSE. Self- care ability of daily living of patients in two groups was detected by ADL. Results The total effective rate in treatment group( 83. 3%) was superior to that in control group( 53. 3%,P 0. 05). MMSE and ADL score after treatment in treatment group was increased as compared with that before treatment in treatment group and after treatment in control group( P 0. 05). Conclusion Yiqicongming decoction has significant effect on vascular dementia.
