Abstract

The dehydration of cyclohexanol to cyclohexene using stannous chloride as catalyst was studied. The optimum conditions for the reaction are the mass ratio of ctalyst to cyclohexanol, 20%; the reaction temperature, 170~(180°C); and the reaction time, 50 minutes. The conversion reaches more than 85.3%, and the product purity is 97.3%. The catalyst can be reused, and the reaction does not cause pollution.
