Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical significance of expression of NF-κB and the role of IL-15 in premature rupture of the fetal membranes(PROM). Methods Using immunohistological method to test the quantity of NF-κB in the specimens of 30 PROM patients and 30 non-PROM patients. Using ELISA to test the quantity of IL-15 in pregnancy woman's sera. Results The percentage of NF-κB P65 positive cells in fetal membrane and the level of IL-15 in maternal blood in PROM patients were significantly higher than those in non-PROM patients (P0.001). The percentage of NF-κB P65 positive cells in fetal membrane and the level of IL-15 in maternal sera in PROM patients were increased obviously with the prolongation of time of PROM. The percentage of NF-κB P65 positive cells in fetal membranes and level of IL-15 in maternal sera in PROM patients with chorioamnionitis were significantly higher than those in PROM patients without chorioamnionitis. Conclusions The NF-κB activity in fetal membrane and IL-15 level in maternal sera in PROM are increased, both are increased in PROM with chorioaminonitis.
