Abstract
AIM:To compare the occurrence of pain and the therapeutic effects of Cortisomol plus gutta percha and Zinc oxide eugenol paste plus gutta percha in root canal filling.METHODS:625 teeth were divided into 4 groups:Cortisomol sealer plus gutta-percha (Cortisomol 1) and Zinc oxide eugenol paste plus gutta percha (Zinc oxide 1) were used respectively in 2 groups of one time method; while Cortisomol sealer plus gutta-percha (Cortisomol 2) and Zinc oxide eugend paste plus gutta-percha (Zine oxide 2) were used in 2 days drainage in the other 2 groups. The occurrence of pain within 1 week after treatment was recorded and tle therapeutic effects were evaluated by follow up of 3 to 6 months.RESULTS:The occurrence rate of pain after root canal therapy using cortisomol 1 was lower than that of the group using Zine oxide 1 with significant difference (P0.05);while,the occurrence of pain in the group using Cortisomol 2 was lower than tle group of using Zinc oxide 2 with significant difference (P0.05).But rate of pain of Cortisomol 1 was higher than that of Cortisomot 2 without significant difference (P0.05).Rate of pain of Zinc oxide 1 was higher than that of Zinc oxide 2 with significant difference (P0.05). After 3 months and 6 months, efficiency rate of Cortisomol 1 and Cortisomol 2 were higher than that of Zine oxide 1 and Zine oxide 2 without significant difference (P0.05).CONCLUSION:Root canal treatment applying Cortisomol sealer plus gutta-percha can decrease the rate of pain occurrence after root canal filling and the therapectic of Cortisomol sealer was not significant in short period.
