EFFICACY OF ADDITIONAL XIAOCHAIHU DECOCTION COMBINED WITH URSODEOXYCHOLIC ACID FOR FATTY LIVER

Objective To assess the therapeutic effect of Xiaochaihu decoction combined with ursodeoxycholic acid for patients with fatty liver. Methods This study consisted of 120 patients with fatty liver,who were randomized to combotherapy group and control group.Beside general therapy,Xiaochaihu decoction plus ursodeoxycholic acid was offered to combotherapy group;Tiopronin and Zhibituo to the control.The symptoms,signs,liver function,and sonographic findings,before and after treatment,were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective power was 95% for combotherapy,being superior to the control(u=3.16,P0.05).Xiaochaihu decoction plus ursodeoxycholic acid significantly improved the patients' sonographic image,blood lipid,and symptoms. Conclusion The combination medication of Xiaochaihu decoction and ursodeoxycholic acid is an effective therapeutics for fatty liver.
