Abstract

Objective To explore the expression of TNF-α and IL-1β in degenerative human intervertebral disc. Methods The experiment group included discs harvested from intervertebral disk hernia, which was subdivided into two groups(disc disrupted/intact),while those of control group included discs harvested from spine fractures.ABC-ELISA method was used to detect the expression of TNF-α and IL-1β in the intervertebral discs. Results The expression of the TNF-α and IL-1β in the anulus fibrosus disrupted group and anulus fibrosus undisrupted group are both higher than the control group.Between the intervertebral disc of experiment group, the expression of the TNF-α and IL-1β in the anulus fibrosus disrupted group is higher than that in anulus fibrosus undisrupted group(P0.05).Conclusions TNF-α and IL-1β in the cells of human intervertebral disc may be involved in the progress of human intervertebral disc degeneration and share the same increasing tendency.
