Investigation on the status of community health education by nurses

Objective To investigate the status of community health education by nurses.Method The means and contents of community health education by nurses were investigated with a self-designed questionnaire in 115 community nurses.Results The most prevalent means of community health education by nurses was face-to-face consultation,which accounted for 60.87%.Among all the health education items,smoking-control education accounted for 56.52%,while mental health education was rare,which accounted for 17.39%.The nurses' professional title was the main influential factor of health education contents.Conclusion The community nurses' health education competence is need to be further improved.
