Distribution and drug resistance of pathogenic bacteria isolated from blood cultures

Abstract

Objective:To investigate the distribution and drug resistance of pathogenic bacteria isolated from blood cultures,in order to provide evidence for rational use of antibiotics in clinic.Methods: The 2560 cases of blood specimens were detected by BacT/Alert 3D automated blood culture system,pathogenic bacteria were identified with VITEK32 automated bacteria identification instrument,drug sensitivity tests used K-B method.Results: 230 microorganisms were isolated from 2560 samples(8.98%),of which Gram-negative bacteria were 146(63.48%),the main pathogenic bacteria were escherichia coli and klebsiella pneumoniae,Gram-positive bacteria were 70(30.43%),the main pathogenic bacteria were coagulase-negative staphylococcus and staphylococcus aureus,fungi were 14(6.09%).The data showed that it was highly sensitive of vancomycin to Gram-positive bacteria and carbapenem to Gram-negative bacteria.Conclusion: It is important to comprehend the blood culture results promptly for the selection of antimicrobial agents in order to increase cure rate and decrease mortality.
