The perioperative nursing of applying biological mesh for repairing the abdominal wall hernia and defect

Objective To summarize the nursing experience of the application of biological mesh in the abdominal wall hernia and defect,to prevent the wound fluid,blood and infection. Methods The perioperative nursing information of 17 cases of the application of biological mesh for repairing the abdominal wall hernia and defect from October 2010 to January 2013 in our hospital was studied retrospectively. Results 15 cases of incision healed in Phase Ⅰ ,2 cases healed in Phase Ⅱ.The patients were followed up for 3 to 18 months,no occurrence of the abdo minal wall hernia or hernia recurrence,no foreign body sensation or chronic pain.Conclusion Nursing completely,timely and effectively in the perioperative period is an important guarantee of success in applying biological mesh for repairing the abdominal wall hernia and defect.
