Abstract
Objective:To detect CT in the diagnosis of primary retroperitoneal tumors and its clinical value.Methods:20 cases of retroperitoneal tumors proved by operation and/or pathology were performed helical CT examination,in which 8 cases were managed with MPR and 3-D reconstruction in workstation.Results:15 cases are malignant lesion, with very large diameter which their CT manifestation is irregular shape, inhomogeneous density, metastasis, encasement of large vessels and often invasion to adjacent organs.Five cases are benign tumors with opposite manifestation to the malignant. Conclusion:Helical CT can make accurate localized diagnosis for all primary retroperitoneal tumors, but can not make qualitative diagnosis except for lipoid tumors with fine differentiation and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
