Influence of Tankeqing Injection on Plasma Cytokine and Lung Faction in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Tankeqing in the treatment of acute exacerbation stage of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and to observe its effects on the plasma levels of cytokine IL-6, IL-8, IL-17, TNF-αand lung faction. Methods 52 patients with COPD were divided into the Tankeqing group (20 ml Tankeqing injection iv gtt q 24 h) and the control group (20 ml of placebo injection iv gtt q 24 h). All patients received standard therapy. The therapeutic course of both groups was 12 days. Results The effective rates were 88.88% and 72.00% in the treatment group and the control group respectively (P0.05). The level of IL-6, IL-8, IL-17, TNF-α in plasma cytokine in the treatment group was Significantly lower that in the control group, but FEV1% and MMEF in the treatment group was higher obviously compared to control group (P0.05). Conclusions TaReqing Injection can reduce the level of plasma cytokine IL-6, IL-8, IL-17 and TNF-α, improve the lung function and has a definite clinical curative effects in the treatment of COPD.
