Abstract

Objectives To study the expression and significance of Bcl-2 and PCNA(Proliferating cell nuclear antigen) in nasal polyps. Methods Expression of Bcl-2 protein and PCNA were prospectively detected with immunohistochemistry in 12 nasal polyps and 10 inferior turbinates. Results The Bcl-2 protein and PCNA positivity in epithelial cell was significantly higher in nasal polyps than in inferior turbinats(P0.05).Conclusions Epithelial cell proliferation and apoptosis inhibition in nasal polyps may be important in formation of nasal polyps.
