Abstract
Objectives To study the expression and significance of Bcl-2 and PCNA(Proliferating cell nuclear antigen) in nasal polyps.Methods Expression of Bcl-2 protein and PCNA were prospectively detected with immunohistochemistry in 12 nasal polyps and 10 inferior turbinates.Results The Bcl-2 protein and PCNA positivity in epithelial cell was significantly higher in nasal polyps than in inferior turbinats(P0.05).Conclusions Epithelial cell proliferation and apoptosis inhibition in nasal polyps may be important in formation of nasal polyps.
