Abstract
Objective To establish a RP-HPLC method for determining paeoniflorin and paeonol in Cortex Moutan. Methods A SunFire ODS C18 column(4.6 mm × 250 mm,5 μm)was used, with the mobile phase consisting of methanol-0.1 % phosphoric acid in gradient mode,at the flow rate of 1.0mL / min.The UV detection wavelength was set at the maximum absorption wavelength,230 nm for paeoniflorin, and 274nm for paeonol. Results The linear ranges of paeoniflorin and paeonol were 0.212~2.120 μg(r=0.999 2) and 0.598~5.980 μg(r=0.999 8),respectively.The average recoveries of paeoniflorin and paeonol were 97.94 %(RSD =1.87 %) and 100.62 %(RSD =1.63 %),respectively. Conclusion This method is sample, accurate and repeatable. It can be used for the quality control of Cortex Moutan.
