Abstract
Seven compounds were isolated from the roots of Polygonum perfoliatum. By combination of chemical methods and spectral analyses, structures, these compounds were identified as β-sitosterol (1), trans-p-hydroxycinnamic acid (2), quercetin (3), quercetin-3-O-β-D- glucoside (4), emodin (5), physcion (6) and aloeemoclin (7). All these compounds were obtained from this plant for the first time.
