Abstract
The papers investigates P27 protein expression in brain astrocytoma with various grades. Methods Expression of P27 protein was studied by immunohistochemical technique in 46 cases of astrocytoma. Results the positive rate of P27 protein was 56.8% in astrocytoma, and the positive rates decreased with progression of pathological grade(P 0.01);the P27 protein expression was negatively correlated with the pathological grade of astrocytoma(r=-0.452,(P0.01)).Conclusion P27 protein plays a key role in astrocytoma genesis and development and is closely correlated with tumor differentiation in astrocytoma.
