Effects of Glutathione Combined with Tetrandrine on the Antioxidation of Parkinson's Disease in Rats

Abstract

Aim:To evaluate the effects of reduced glutathione hormone(GSH)combined with tetrandrine on the antioxidation of Parkinson's disease(PD)in a rat model.Methods:The PD rat model was established by stereotactic microinjection of 6-hydroxydopamine.The rats were randomly divided into 4 groups and were treated with different candidates for 50 days.The circling behavior of all rats was observed before and after treatment.The activity of GSH in substantia nigra and the contents of MDA,ROS in striatum were assayed after treatment.Results:①Glutathione combined with tetrandrine had significant improvement on the circling behavior of PD rats.②Glutathione combined with tetrandrine could decrease the oxidative stress of PD rats.The contents of MDA,ROS in striatum were significantly decreased in striatum.③Glutathione combined with tetrandrine considerably increased the contents of GSH in substantia nigra.Conclusion:Tetrandrine could enhance the effects of antioxidation of GSH in PD rats.
