Abstract

The present paper summarized the dipeptidyl peptidase Ⅳ(DPP-Ⅳ) and the clinical studies of DPP-Ⅳ inhibitors.DPP-Ⅳ reduces the degradation of GLP-1 and GIP,which stimulate insulin secretion.Inhibition of plasma DPP-Ⅳ enzyme leads to enhance endogenous GLP-1 and GIP activity, which ultimately results in insulin secretion and lowers the blood glucose level.
