Abstract
Objective To study the serum IL-18,C-reactive protein(CRP) level changes and their significances in diabetic nephropathies patients in different stages.Methods Ninety-seven cases of type 2 diabetes were chosed,and they were divided into three groups,namely normal albuminuria group(n=35),microalbuminuria group(n=30) and proteinuria group(n=32),according to urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER).Thirty-five healthy individuals were selected as the control group.The levels of serum IL-18 and CRP were detected by ELISA,and their influential factors were analyzed.Results Compared with control group,IL-18,CRP levels in diabetic patients were significantly higher(P0.05),and IL-18 levels gradually increased with the increasing of UAER(P0.01).Pearson correlation analysis showed that serum CRP,IL-18 were positively associated with disease,systolic blood pressure,glycated hemoglobin,fasting glucose,TG,TC,LDL-C,blood urea nitrogen,serum creatinine,UAER(rIL-18=0.766,0.628,0.568,0.388,0.375,0.400,0.512,0.516,0.698,0.792;rCRP=0.777,0.701,0.416,0.327,0.308,0.307,0.449,0.611,0.817,0.893,P0.01),and negatively correlated with HDL-C(rIL-18=-0.652,rCRP=-0.546,P0.01).There was a positive correlation between IL-18 and CRP(r=0.890,P0.01).Conclusions IL-18 and CRP may be involved in the development of type 2 diabetic nephropathies,combined detection of both have important role in early diagnosis.
