Abstract

Objective To investigate the therapeutic efficacy of partial splenic arterial embolization.Methods The catheters were inserted into the splenic artery selectively through the femoqal artery using Seldinger technique,the platelets(PLT),white blood cells(WBC) and red blood cells(RBC) were investigated between before and after operation.Length and width of spleen were investigated between before operation and after operation.Symptoms、signs and complications were investigated between before and after operation.Results The PLT and WBC increased obviously in 1,2,4,8,12,28,56 week after operation and returned to normal or exceeded it(P0.05).But the changes of RBC in 1,2,4,8,12 week after operation were not obviously(P0.05),while 28,56 week later they increased obviously than that before operation(P0.05).Spleen became smaller in 2,4,8,12,28,56 weeks after operation(P0.05).It returned to normal in 56-week.The complications include left upper abdominal pain and fever(35 cases).10 cases appeared ascites.Conclusion Partial splenic arterial embolization is safe and effective in relieving hypersplenisn and portal hypertension.
