Abstract
This paper describes a new genus and a new species of Microgastrinae from Fujian Province, Southeast of China. Type specimen is deposited in Institute of Biological Control, Fujian Agricultural University. Chaoa gen. nov. Size small. Flagellomeres with 2 ranks of placodes. Pronotum laterally only with a defined lower groove. Polished scutellum apex without interrupted medially by sculpture. Metanotum superficial punctation, without setae on anteriolateral lobe. Propodeum smooth with several short longitudinal carinae in medioapical part, without areola. The r-m of fore wing absent,i.e. areolat open. The r as long as 2-SR, meeting in angulation. Metacarp(1-R1) long, 1-CU1 shorter than 2-CU1. subapical margin of vannal lobe of hind wing slightly concave, bearing a few hairs on basal margin and without hair on the terminal. Hind coax large, much longer than tergite Ⅰ. Spur of hind tibia rather longer than half the basitarsus. Tergite Ⅰ long, base and apex narrowed, bearing rugosus laterally on 2/5 posterior part and sculpture medially at apex. Tergite Ⅱ, divided into three sections by a pair of longitudinal grooves delimiting a smooth medial area that is wedge-shaped and with sculpture beside it (Fig.2). Tergite Ⅱ longer than tergite Ⅲ. Tergite Ⅲ and other terga smooth and polished. Hypopygium of female surpassing apex of abdomen, evenly sclerotized from side to side, never with a series of longitudinal creases. Ovipositor sheath short and mostly consealed by hypopygium, its length shorter than the half of hind tibia, only a few hairs concentrates at apex of the sheath. Type species: Chaoa flavipes sp. nov. The new genus is closely related to Neyreria Mason 1981, but differs from the latter in the following feature, 1)propodeum usually rugulose and with a complete or incomplete median longitudinal carina;2)tergite Ⅰ parallel to obviously wider apically, usually rugolose;3)pronotum with both dorsal and ventral groove, the dorsal weak or shortened. The new genus is also closely related to Glyptapanteles Ashmead 1905, but differs from it in the appearance of Tergite Ⅱ.Chaoa flavipes sp. nov.(Figs.1-3) Female. Length of body.2.9*!mm;length of wing 3.1*!mm. OD∶APOL∶POL∶OOL=1.0∶1.3∶2.9∶2.9. Eyes 2 times as high as wide in dorsal view. The ratio of length∶wide∶height of alitrunk is 3.5∶2.8∶2.5. Forewing 2.0 times as long as wide, pterostigma 2.6 times as long as wide, 1-R1(metacarp) 8 times as long as the distance from 1-R1 to apex of marginal cell and about 1.0 time as long as pterostigma. The ratio of r and 2-SR as 9∶8, 1-CU1 0.73 times as long as 2-CU1. M+CU of mediella 0.73 times as long as 1-M. Length of metasoma 1.55*!mm. Tergite I 1.8 times as long as the widest.
