Abstract
As the mainstream of traditional Chinese culture,confucianism pays close attention to politics and the reality of society,lays stress on the value and meaning of life.It maintains that man should realize some kind of political ideal through moral accomplishment of himself,opposes the seeking of external Kindom of Heaven or “the world of other shore”.It is a humanistic theory which regards man as core,considers the morality of man as standard,and advocates active service to society.But,in the process of historic development of confucianism,it also shows some kind of religious coloure and funtion.This article discusses preliminarily the humanistic spirit of confucianism as well as its religious colour.
