Abstract
This paper analyzes the typical cases of creation by several masters in the Chinese calligraphy history and elaborates the essence of fostering new calligraphy styles. It emphasizes that innovation should not deviate from but also not rigidly adhere to tradition, and only in this way can innovation has its practical meaning.
