Abstract

In this manuscript lipase from Pseudomonas cepacia was immobilized in sol-gel matrix and use to its transesterification of soybean oil with methanol into biodiesel was studied.The effects of water content, methanol/oil molar ratio,enzyme loading,temperature,organic solvents and time course on the transesterification were determined.The results showed that the optimal conditions for transesterification were as follows: soybean oil 4.5 g: temperature 40 ℃,4∶1 methanol/oil molar ratio,6% water content and 646mg immobilized lipase.By combination with the optimum conditions,a high methyl esters formation(96.33%) was obtained.
