Effect of tongxinluo on blood lipid and carotid atherosclerosis in patients with hypertension

Objective:To discuss the curative effect and protection of tongxinluo on blood lipid and carotid atherosclerosis in patients with hypertension.Methods:110essential hypertension patients with carotid atherosclerosis and hyperlipaemia were randomly divided into treatment group and control group.The treatment group were treated with tongxinluo and Their carotid and lipid levels were checked after3and6months,in order to compare with the control group on the lipid levels,carotid inner diameters,the thickness between carotid intima-media thickness(IMT).Results:After3months of treatment tongxinluo could efficiently decrease total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),lowdensity lipoprotein cholesterol(LDLC)level in plasme,and as the treatment prolonged,the decrease of the dinilution of IMT all had statistcal signifiˉcance.Conclusion:Tongxinluo can efficienly decrease the lipid level in plasma,it can improve and stabilize the carotid atherosclerosis.
