Abstract

Objective To explore the distribution, main types and its influential factors of astigmatism in the amblyopic children aged 4-12,and to provide evidence for the prevention of astismatism in amblyopia. Methods Totally 2 057 amblyopia children(3 704 eyes) 4-12 years old were selected from 2006 to 2009,the astigmatism status of amblyopia eyes were determined by retinoscopy optometry after mydriasis, the distribution of astigmatism at different ages, sex, degree of amblyopia were described. Results Of 2 057 amblyopia children, the detection rate of astigmatism(≥0.5D) was 94.02%,and the detection rate reduces with age increasing.Astigmatism 0.50-2.00D(69.1%) was the mainly group, compound hyperopic astigmatism was the most, astigmatism with the rule accounted for 90.2%,and the distribution of astigmatism diopte, astigmatism type and astigmatism axis in difference age had statistical difference(P0.05).The distribution of astigmatism diopter, astigmatism type and astigmatism axial in different sexes were not statistically different(P0.05).The distribution of astigmatism diopter, astigmatism type and astigmatism axial in different degrees of amblyopia had statistically different(P0.05).Conclusion The detection rate of astigmatism is high in amblyopia children of 4-12 years and decreases with age.It indicats that the astigmatism of children should correct as early as possible in order to prevent the amblyopia.
