Abstract
The estimation of teachers' performance is one of the important part of human resources management at colleges and one of the important tools to appraise teachers.Scientific estimation is good for establishing benign motivational mechanisms and arousing teachers' enthusiasm for work;unscientific estimation would hurt teachers' initiatives. This paper makes a reflection on the rationality of the teachers' performance estimation tools currently used, discusses the problems existing in the estimation of college teacher' performances, and provides some suggestions for establishing scientific estimation systems of teachers' performance: to combine quantitative estimation with quantitative estimation in terms of teachers' professional characteristics;to emphasize the process estimation by establishing the concept of total quality;to develop the function of estimation modification by helping teachers improve their specialties;to estimate teachers' performance from all aspects by following colleges' functions.
