Abstract

The decolorization performance of a biomass adsorbent——modified corncob to dye wastewater has been introduced in this essay. There are many factors influencing the decolorization effect to dye wastewater, including adsorption time,pH value, initial concentration, adsorbent dosage, temperature, the structure of dye and so on,but the most important factors are adsorption time,pH value and initial concentration. The best decolorization conditions for 50 mL dye wastewater by modified corncob are determined as follows: pH value 2,adsorption time 30 min and 60 min to direct deep blue and acid red, initial concentration 50 mg·L-1,and adsorbent dosage 1.0 g.Under above conditions, the decolorization rate can reach over 95%.This completely reaches to the goal of treating one pollutant by another, and turning pollutant to useful thing.
