PRAVASTATIN COMBINED FELODIPINE THERAPY ISOLATED SYSTOLIC HYPERTENSION IN THE ELDERLY:A CLINICAL OBSERVATION

[Objective]To observe the clinic efficacy of pravastatin combined with felodipine therapy isolated systolic hypertension in the elderly.[Methods]86 cases of elderly patients with isolated systolic hypertension randomly divided into observation and control groups,each group had 43 cases,both groups got released felodipine Tablet for oral administration 5mg,1 times a day;Treatment group also got Pravastatin 20mg every night.If the blood pressure could not attend the standard in 2 weeks,we adjusted the dosage to 10mg/-released felodipine tablet.Two groups got treatment for 6 months,and we check and record changes in blood pressure,pulse pressure and TC in the 2 groups.[Results]There was no significant difference in the indexes before treatment in the 2 groups.After treatment,diastolic pressure did not show significant difference between the 2 groups.Compared with control group,systolic blood pressure,pulse pressure,total cholesterol has dropped significantly in the treatment group(P﹤0.05).Treatment group did not see muscle pain,muscle inflammation,elevated ALT,elevated creatine kinase and other adverse effects.[Conclusion]Pravastatin-released felodipine tablet is effective in reducing blood pressure in elderly patients with isolated systolic hypertension and pulse pressure,which is security good and worthy of clinical application.
