Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To observe the clinical efficacy of felodipine combined with fuvastatin in the treatment of isolated systolic hypertension in elderly patients.METHODS:From Oct.2009 to Oct.2010,98 cases of elderly isolated systolic hypertension patients were randomly separated into 2 groups.49 cases in observation group were treated with felodipine combined with fuvastatin and 49 cases in control group were treated with felodipine alone. The clinical effect, changes of blood pressure, pulse pressure and blood lipid were observed before and after treatment.RESULTS:The total effective rate in observation group was 91.8% and was 65.3% in control group, which there was a significant difference(P0.05).The levels of DBP,SBP and pulse pressure were significantly decreased in both 2 groups, there was statistical significance before and after treatment(P0.05).Moreover,the levels of SBP in observation group were significantly higher than in control group while pulse pressure in observation group were significantly lower than in control group, there was statistical significance between 2 groups(P0.05).Compared with before treatment, the levels of TC and TG were significantly decreased in observation group(P0.05) while no significant difference in control group(P0.05).Moreover,the levels of TC and TG in observation group were significantly lower than in control group, there was statistical significance between 2 groups(P0.05).CONCLUSION:Felodipine combined with fuvastatin in the treatment of isolated systolic hypertension in elderly patients can improve clinical effect, lower blood pressure, decrease pulse pressure, and reduce blood lipid, which can be applied in the clinic.
