Abstract
According to the overall consumption structure and Engel coefficient, this paper makes an analysis on the status of urban residents' consumption in Jilin Province, and establishes the expended linear expenditure system( ELES Model) by using the relative data and analyzes the marginal propensity to consume, the demand of basic consumption and income elasticity of demand. The result shows that the consumption structure of urban residents in Jilin Province is developing into comfortable type, but the expenditure in food is relatively high. So,it's necessary to increase urban residents' income and make function of the government to elevate the consumption structure, which is significant for the economic growth from depending on investment-leading to consumption-leading.
